The Windermere Valley Minor Hockey Association (WVMHA) has some of the most affordable fees as compared to other larger associations and other sports.

The fees change annually and increase with the age of the player. Typically, fees start around $200 for the youngest age group to about $350/450 for the oldest players. Fees go toward paying the RDEK for ice time and running the association. Coaches, managers, on-ice helpers, and the WVMHA are all volunteer positions.

Teams usually practice twice a week from September through early March and so fees cover all of that ice time and running of the association. There are discounts for registering early, and late fees for registering late, so keep an eye on the Registration page of the website.

Families choosing to participate in tournaments (all ages) or league play (U11 and older only) will have additional tournament fees payable once the season starts and coaches/families make decisions about which tournaments to attend or which league is being played in.

Tournaments: Depending on the age of the player, these additional fees may range from $200-$400 for the season exclusive of player/family travel costs which have associated travel, meal and accommodation expenses.

League play: usually involves travel and meal expenses but most families drive back/forth on days of league games but this does depend somewhat on the age of the player. Older players may end up playing in more distant leagues and so there would be associated accommodation expenses for these situations.

U9: $235 Early registration discount up to June 30, 2023; $325 July 1, 2023 and thereafter

U11: $350 Early registration discount up to June 30, 2023; $450 July 1, 2023 and thereafter

U13: $350 Early registration discount up to June 30, 2023; $450 July 1, 2023 and thereafter

U15: $350 Early registration discount up to June 30, 2023; $450 July 1, 2023 and thereafter

U18: $350 Early registration discount up to June 30, 2023; $450 July 1, 2023 and thereafter
